Shape Stretch Research

Motivated by the need to support those who need assistance to stretch, we performed evaluation of the Shape Stretch Body Bar, a novel stretching apparatus that uses leverage over tension. In-lab studies with 30 participants found individuals were able to use Shape Stretch to reliably stretch from a variety of positions using a printed poster entry and/or a video. Based on insights from these evaluations, we ultimately developed instructional design materials for stretching that deliver a core series of stretches across sports positions and planes of movement.
